SYSTEM POST OPERATION COORDINATOR - BR

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a System Post Operation Coordinator based in Sao Paulo, to be responsible for developing detailed ex-post analyses and reports on the impact of the National Interconnected System on Atlas power plants. This role ensures a comprehensive understanding of the system's operations from the previous day. Any operational discrepancies must be promptly identified, documented, and addressed. The analyses should be thorough, methodical, and precise, minimizing any gaps that could affect decision-making or accountability.
What challenges will you face?
- Maintain a repository of reports and communications for easy future reference, ensuring traceability and accessibility.
- Prepare daily reports summarizing key highlights and significant values from the previous day’s operations, analyzing the National Interconnected System’s impact on Atlas plants, and identifying deviations or inefficiencies for proactive resolution.
- Compile monthly reports/dashboards with key information, including curtailment data, performance metrics, and competitor comparisons, highlighting critical events, issues, and lessons learned.
- Draft formal communications (letters, emails, technical notes) to document issues, supporting internal claims or regulatory needs.
- Collaborate with legal, regulatory, or compliance teams to substantiate cases requiring formal intervention.
- Monitor grid code deadlines and submit requests to adjust or challenge curtailment classifications with the system operator.
- Review grid performance and Atlas power plant operations, analyzing real-time outcomes, identifying gaps caused by the ISO, and improving communication to minimize operational risks.
- Assess deviations between expected operations (dispatch guidelines) and actual curtailment levels, providing insights into performance discrepancies.
- Engage with power plant operators, system operators, and internal stakeholders to gather information for post-operation analysis, highlighting new trends and system operator updates.
What specific knowledge do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required for this role.
- Desirable master’s degree focused on power systems and renewable energy.
- At least 4-6 years in a similar role or at least developing similar tasks experience in interconnection, operation and market analysis
- Advanced English, spanish ideally.
- Proficient in programming languages (Python, R, VBA) and Power BI management.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical sector regulations, energy markets, and power system planning and operation methods.
- Strong skills in extracting actionable insights from operational data for impactful reporting.
- Capable of identifying gaps or inconsistencies overlooked during real-time operations.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, ensuring high standards in analyses and communications.
- Skilled in creating structured and persuasive documents for various stakeholders.
- Effective collaborator with system operators, power plant operators, and commercial, legal, and compliance teams.
