What are we looking for?
We are looking for a COMPLIANCE MANAGER based in SAO PAULO which aims to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies related to various areas such as the Atlas Code of Conduct, anti-bribery, sanctions, anti-money laundering, antitrust, data privacy, and environmental, safety, and operational standards in countries where Atlas operates. The focus is on mitigating legal risks, addressing whistleblower complaints, supporting sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, integrating compliance into renewable energy projects, and promoting ethical practices throughout the organization.
What challenges will you face?
- Monitor and ensure compliance with AML laws, renewable energy regulations, environmental laws, and safety standards.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments and develop corrective actions to address compliance gaps.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures following industry regulations.
- Train employees and third parties on compliance standards, legal requirements, data privacy, and best practices.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, manage compliance investigations, and address whistleblower complaints.
- Conduct background checks on counterparties and recommend risk mitigation measures based on findings.
- Implement and oversee the data privacy program, handling data subject requests and ensuring legal compliance.
- Support the legal team, manage the compliance budget, respond to KYC forms, and review compliance terms in financing agreements.
What specific knowledge do you need?
- Bachelor's degree in Law
- Studies (MBA or post-graduation) in data privacy and/or compliance.
- Certifications in compliance management or environmental Law are a plus.
- At least 7 years of legal experience in compliance management, preferably within the renewable energy, energy, or environmental sectors.
- Proven experience in auditing, risk management, and compliance training.
- Experience working in international markets with varying regulatory environments.
- English and Spanish advanced
- MS Office intermediate
- Strong understanding of energy markets, renewable energy regulations, and environmental laws.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations in a practical, clear, and actionable manner.
- Upminer (Uplexis), Dow Jones desirable
