What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer based in Sao Paulo. The Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in supporting the reliability, availability, and efficiency of renewable energy generation assets. This position is responsible for delivering technical support to field O&M teams, standardizing maintenance processes, conducting root cause analysis, and continuously improving asset maintenance plans with a focus on safety, risk mitigation, and generation maximization. The role requires a strong background in engineering, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy systems, including Wind, Hydropower, Solar PV, and other related technologies.
What challenges will you face?
Provide high-level technical support to O&M teams, balancing technical, financial, and safety aspects to ensure optimal plant performance.
Lead and conduct root cause analyses (RCA) for critical failures and define mitigation plans, including engagement with OEMs and service providers to address warranty and liability issues.
Develop, revise, and implement standardized maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
Improve and adapt preventive and predictive maintenance plans to enhance reliability and availability of generation assets.
Identify and propose engineering solutions to mitigate occupational safety risks and improve operational performance (availability, energy yield, efficiency).
Perform troubleshooting of complex failures requiring advanced technical knowledge and engineering expertise.
Ensure best practices in asset care aligned with operational excellence and equipment life-cycle management.
Interface with digital systems to support condition monitoring, asset diagnostics, and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Collaborate to implement analytical models for failure detection and reliability growth.
Support the knowledge transfer and technical training for field teams and contractors
What specific knowledge do you need?
At least 5 years in asset maintenance or reliability engineering, preferably in renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, or hybrid systems).
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related Engineering
Desirable Postgraduate studies in Reliability, Asset Management or Power Systems.
CMMS systems (e.g. SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Infor EAM)
Root Cause Analysis methodologies (RCA, 5 Whys, FMEA)
Knowledge of standards (IEC, IEEE, ISO 55000)
Solid understanding of maintenance engineering principles applied to Wind, Solar PV, Hydropower, and other renewable energy technologies
